Irwin Recreation Centre

The Irwin Recreation Centre project commenced in 2007 and was completed in 2008 comprising of indoor and outdoor sport facilities. The design of the Recreation Centre included extensive community consultation comprising workshops, briefing with the sporting and other user groups, Life Cycle calculations, and Grant Application. The New Recreational Centre incorporates the renovated existing sports building. The new sports hall provides international standard netball, basketball, volleyball and badminton courts. The changing facilities cater for both indoor and oval sport activities. The complex also provides tennis club facilities, function rooms with kitchens and rest rooms, Crèche, state of the art Gymnasium and Squash Courts.

The scope of works for the project was:

-Demolish part of the existing sports pavilion

-Complete final trim earthworks to level

-Form, fix and pour all concrete for the project

-Pour concrete tilt panels (on site).

-Lift tilt panels into place.

-Structural steel for the project

-Mechanical, electrical and plumbing

-Fit out (plastering, floor coverings, windows, carpentry, Brick work, painting and playground furniture)
